TikTok Shop Live Selling: Compliance Rules

What's different about compliance during TikTok Shop live streams, and the mistakes that get live sessions cut short.

Live is monitored differently

Live streams get both automated and human moderation in real time, and a stream can be cut without warning. Unlike a recorded video, there's no chance to edit before it's seen — script your key claims in advance.

Frequent live-specific triggers

  • Ad-libbed claims that go further than your product's actual approved language.
  • Reading comments aloud that contain banned words or off-platform contact info.
  • Artificial urgency ("only 2 left", "price goes up in 5 minutes") that isn't true.
  • Comparing directly to a named competitor product.

Before you go live

Write your core claims as a script first and audit them — the same rules that apply to recorded videos apply live, just with less room to correct course mid-stream.
